A Big, Big Weekend
14 March 2007This Saturday evening, St. Patrick’s Day, at 6:00 P.M., I will have the distinct honor and pleasure of being the best man in my son’s wedding! I can’t believe just how excited I am about this. When I graduated from CSU a year and a half ago and left on a ten day cruise the same day, I wasn’t nearly so excited as I am now.
My wife and I have prayed for both our children to find godly spouses. My daughter isn’t quite ready to be married yet but in the case of my son, God has certainly answered our prayers. His wife to be is a fine young woman and we are proud to have her become a part of our family.
Additionally, both my son and his fiancee are committed to keeping God first in their lives, followed by their marriage and each other. While they will face difficult times just as all married couples do, I have every confidence that God will carry them through those times and make them both better for the effort. I can see how each one’s strengths will balance the other’s weaknesses. It will be fun to watch them grow together through the years.
To my faithful readers I would ask your prayers for the soon to be married couple. There is no such thing as too much prayer. Just pray that God would bless their marriage and that they would always be sensitive God’s leading in their lives. On Saturday God will join the two into one flesh. May they always honor that joining and work diligently honor God in all they do.
