PC vs. Mac

This is a pretty radical departure for this blog but I can’t help myself. In my other life I’m an IT guy who works on PCs every day. They have their problems but I love working on them and with them.

If you watch TV at all you’ve seen the clever PC vs Mac commercials. They are, admittedly, very good ads and they are, apparently, quite effective. Unfortunately, they are also terribly misleading. I’ve both loved them and hated them since they came out.

Microsoft could not, of course, respond to these commercials without looking silly and small. I figured some Mac user would eventually sue for false advertising with ads that imply that Macs can’t get viruses, a blatant falsehood.

So now there is a rebuttal from director Laurie McGuinness. They aren’t on TV and I’m quite sure they never will be. They do, I think, accurately reflect the true relationship between Macs and PCs. And fortunately they are on YouTube.
