Ding Dong Saddam is Dead

Iraqi TV reports that Saddam Hussein has been hanged. We have, of course, expected his execution before the weekend was out and there was speculation that he would be executed before the day was out. That speculation turns out to have been correct. One of Saddam’s lawyers has confirmed his death.

Saddam was hanged shortly before dawn after being found guilty of ordering the deaths of 148 Shiite men and boys following an assassination attempt. He will not be missed.
