Modern Warfare

20 August 2006

Both Democrats and Republicans have gone on at length about how war has changed and the tactics and weapons we use must change with it. While the two sides clearly do not agree on tactics, weapons or much of anything else when it comes to the conduct of war or even whether wars can be fought and won, there is a serious lack of information for the rest of us to assess in making our own determination.

That is changing with the blogosphere. Richard, at EU Referendum, has written a great article detailing some of the more important battlefield lessons learned in Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon. He does a masterful job of demonstrating where the wrong tactics have been used and what tactics and weapons have proved more effective. It is well worth your time to read.
